Photo 101 4.26.10

For the past month I have been taking a Photo 101 online course. It has forced me to switch my camera from the auto setting and into the unknown realm of manual. The class has been very informative and a great learning experience but I have come to the conclusion that when shooting JMO you need to have the camera in auto mode just to capture that perfect shot.

Here are a few shots from my Creative photo shoot homework.

Reflections on Year One 8.4.2009

First Ollom Family Picture

How time has flown in 12 short months since you came into my life. It seems like only yesterday that you were nursing and now you’re eating off my plate and drinking out of a cup. Crawling, babble talking, smiles, giggles, and snuggles.  I love all our moments together and cherish very simple one.

“And like a child,  jump into the moment with all that you are, and share yourself with all that is. A whole world is waiting for us, gratefully and joyfully. ~Sasa”

I think that I might have an idea where JMO gets those chubby cheeks from.

My First Mother’s Day 5.8.2009

h and jmo

As a prelude to Mother’s Day, I was treated to a Mother’s Special Day at the Montessori. I got to play hookie from work and enjoy some juice and cookies while playing with JMO. As I understand from his teachers daily progress report that he maybe working on a present of his own for Mother’s Day…crawling.

Meet B.O.B. 5.3.2009

10233251

After months of looking for a B.O.B. on Craigslist and always checking them out at REI I sucked it up and purchased one for JMO and I. My reason is two fold 1) our sidewalks around the house make it very hard to push a normal stroller 2) I can’t seem to find time to get back on the treadmill. Enter B.O.B. to solve my problems.

I took it out this afternoon on it’s maiden voyage and I love it! JMO had a smooth ride and was completely protected from the sun and I found it so easy to push. So much so that we are going to take it out again tonight.

Away too Long 4.28.2009

jmo_dsc_0106

You may have noticed as of late the decline in blog postings. This is directly attributed to my access being limited coupled with a sick baby and house that is constantly in disarray. Yes; I’m still working through the balancing act of Motherhood and with that the blog gets neglected (as it should).

Last night I was able to steal way some “me” time and play with the pictures that I took with the D90 this weekend. The D90 rocks and my eyes have been opened to all the small details that my Canon missed. I look forward to my new lens coming  in which will allow me to shoot at a closer angle, my D90 class that Michael and JMO are sending me to  in May (Thank you again for my B-Day gift) and practicing on my favorite subjects…my boys.

It is said that Nerval had a pet lobster that he took for walks in Paris on the end of a blue ribbon. I have a liking for lobsters. They are peaceful, serious creatures. They know the secrets of the sea, they don’t bark…”

Wendy, Jonathan and Riley while visiting Baby Boy Ford on Thursday night. Have you ever seen a new mother as beautiful after giving birth?

It’s a BOY!!! 2.19.2009

I’m please to announce that this morning Wendy had a Baby Boy! He was 8lbs 3oz, 19 1/4 inches long and was born at 8:42am. Be sure to check back for pictures.

Tips for Changing Diapers 12.23.08

hm_store_gdpacifier1
Always make sure that you know where the babies extra sock and pacifier are when changing a “blow-out” diaper.
This will avoid the hilarious conversation with his father later on when he finds the sock inside the onezie and the pacifier pulled up in his pants.

Funny Story From Early This Morning 12.22.2008

soothing-seas-ocean-wonder

Yesterday at Target we bought JMO a FisherPrice Soothing Seas Wonder Aquarium to replace his broken mobile. The aquarium has swimming fish, peek-a-boo crabs, swaying seaweed, bubbles that rise up to the surface, background lighting, classical music and water sounds.

We decided to not wait for Christmas and use the aquarium right away since there is no music in his room to help him sleep.

At 3:30am this morning I hear over the baby monitor him fussing and then music turning on and off. I went to investigate and found him with his head toward the top of the crib and his feet kicking the aquarium music on and off. What a smart little guy…
